About EYP

The European Youth Parliament (EYP) was created more than fifty years ago as an independent educational, non-partisan, and non-profit project, specially designed to adapt to the needs of the European youth.

EYP promotes the development of both independent thinking and socio-political initiative in young people, which also facilitates the learning of crucial skills both in the social and professional environments, as well as critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork and public speaking skills; giving voice to the European youth, and providing a space in which to discuss, share ideas and open intercultural dialogue as well as raise awareness about current European socio-political issues, fostering active citizenship, international understanding and the diversity of ideas and practices.

Since its beginnings, several tens of thousands of young people have taken part in regional, National and international sessions; which has led them to create friendships with people from different member states of the European Union.

EYP España

What EYP seeks is to give a voice to the European youth through a big platform which allows them to debate political, intercultural issues and exchange ideas among young people. In addition, it is composed by a network of 36 European organizations, or National Committees, that act at the level of each country, in which thousands of young people actively participate on a voluntary basis. In this network, which organizes almost 500 events each year, is were EYP España is found. It was created more than 10 years ago, during which we have organized 13 National Selection Conferences, 4 International Forums, 1 International Session and dozens of regional sessions. All these sessions are carried out thanks to our volunteers, who are already more than 200 in Spain.

EYP is a Schwarzkopf Foundation programme.
